Harvey Nichols – Afternoon tea
Posted: September 21, 2014 Filed under: Food | Tags: afternoon tea, harvey nichols 4 CommentsHaving a very civilised afternoon tea at Harvey Nichols in Leeds.
A trio of sandwiches
- Cheese and apricot chutney
- Salmon
- Ham and mustard
A trio of little cakes
- Lemon macaroon
- Raspberry madeira cake
- White chocolate profiterole.
A scone with raspberry jam and clotted cream
A cup of tea.
I’m always taken aback by afternoon tea, though. For some reason I almost always expect slightly more sandwiches
Only one cup of tea? I’d you good do with a whole pot to go with all that delicious treats. I love high tea. Take time to relax, talk some, look around some ( so nice to do!) And of course….sketch! An other nice one!

Wow – love your representations!
3 sandwiches, 1 scone, 3 pastries – does sound pretty small.
Used to live in Leeds too, by the way!

(I have to admit I was still hungry afterwards – I don’t really need an excuse to visit Yo Sushi at the best of times!)

For my birthday my sister got me an afternoon tea at a little upmarket tearoom called The Spiced Pear – where I was treated to a Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea! (Which I’m in the process of finishing illustrating) It had pork pie, beef and dripping and Yorkshire pudding, as well as scone and cakes. I had to have an accompanying ale to wash it all down.
