Where a little bit of me is stolen away
Posted: June 12, 2013 Filed under: Food 3 CommentsLast night our house was broken into and amongst the laptops, cameras, phones, wallets, my wife’s car and other assorted STUFF that got taken, the thieves also took my sketching bag with two of my books of foodie pictures.
Now I realise that they’re just more STUFF, and I had scanned the completed drawings, but there were quite a few unfinished pieces in there, including some for exhibition later this year.
If “wreck this journal” teaches us anything it is that we must be comfortable in letting go of our art. But they were full of me. Hours of sitting in restaurants and cafes watching my food go cold.
How horrible, how despicable. I have been violated and can only imagine how devastated you must feel. If you can get past this you will be a “bigger” man than the ignorant vermin who did this vile thing. Head up, face the future, don’t look back. My prayers

Thanks Steve. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that my name and address in the front of the books might mean they get returned, somehow. But, yes, I guess I need to sigh and move on 🙂

That’s terrible. I’m sorry to hear that. Good luck with your future writings/sketches
