Oriental Buffet

After popping into the Art Gallery in Bradford, after work, I thought I would sample one of the newer oriental buffets.

The range of dishes was a bit limited and, as I sadly wrote at the time, a large group came in shortly after I arrived and finished off the whole of the crispy duck, leaving just a smear of hoisin and a trail of pancakes in their wake.

Pre-drawing I would have felt very self conscious sitting in a restaurant on my own. Now, of course, I sit with my sketchbook and paints, just courting people to look and stare. They don’t tend to look over too much. I often feel like a bit of a curiosity, sitting there sketching. (I’m sure I overheard a waitress describe me as a wierdo the other day. Or was that my paranoia kicking in?)
